How is it performed?

When is it performed?

A skin-sparing mastectomy can be performed as a “simple” or “total” mastectomy or as a modified radical mastectomy to allow immediate skin reconstruction.

In most women, this operation can be performed, but it is not performed unless breast reconstruction is performed immediately.

Skin-sparing mastectomy should not be performed in inflammatory breast cancer.

What is a nipple sparing mastectomy?
